What the Shophulp Check looks at
You enter a product question the way a shopper would, plus your shop or brand domain and the country (Netherlands or Belgium). The check asks Bol Shophulp in a real, logged-out browser session and reads the cards.
01
The cards Shophulp shows
Title, seller, price and rating of every product card in the answer, in the order bol shows them. That is what a shopper sees before clicking through.
02
Your position
For each card we judge whether it is your product or your shop, with a certainty label (certain, likely, uncertain). You see your best position and how many of the cards are yours.
03
Who is shown instead of you
The sellers and brands that do appear, counted per card. Useful to see whether it is assortment, reviews or price.
04
How the answer talks about you
Is your brand recommended, merely mentioned or absent? This is a judgement with a confidence, not a fact; the confidence is shown next to it.
05
Real session, honestly labelled
The capture runs in a browser on our own infrastructure, without a logged-in account. When it is unavailable you get a simulated result with a clear label, never an invented number.
Why it matters · the short version
Shophulp is bol's new first page
If you are not in the cards, you do not exist for that question.
Bol's Shophulp answers open product questions ('which air purifier for a 15 m2 bedroom?') with a short answer and a handful of product cards. A shopper who searches this way does not scroll through 400 results; they pick from those few cards or ask a follow-up. For that question, only what is in the answer counts.
Which products appear depends on more than the search term: completeness of titles and specs, reviews, price, delivery time and whether the product fits the question the way the assistant interprets it. All of these are things a seller can influence, provided you know where you stand today.
That is why we measure it per question in a real session instead of guessing from your position in the regular search results. In the platform we do this weekly for your most important product questions, with sources and a trend.
Methodology · what is what
What we decide, measure and estimate
Every number in the result belongs to one of these three. The report itself says which, per item, so you know what to lean on.
Assessed by our decision model
A judgement with a probability behind it: certain, likely or uncertain. Not a fact, but traceable — the same input gives the same judgement, and the certainty is always shown.
Which cards are yours and how the answer talks about you.
Measured
What we literally fetched or counted: HTTP status, HTML, robots.txt, sitemaps, feeds and search results. If it is not there, we say so.
The cards bol's Shophulp showed in one real browser session: title, seller, price and rating.
Estimated
Models and rules of thumb: search volumes, click rates, expected return. Good enough to prioritise with, not to budget on.
Nothing — but one session is one moment: Shophulp can answer differently per session.
Simulated. When no decision model, provider or cluster is available — or the daily ceiling for the free tools is reached — the tool keeps running on deterministic example data. That is labelled on every item it touches.
