AI SEO services

More and more buying decisions no longer start with ten blue links but with a single answer. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews summarise the web and name a handful of sources while doing so. If you are not among them, you do not exist for that question. AI SEO (also called GEO, generative engine optimisation) makes your pages the sources those answers are built from.

Traze does not do that with tricks, but with content AI models are happy to cite: direct answers, clear entities, structure that can be retrieved and pages AI crawlers can actually reach. It researches which questions your customers ask AI assistants, writes the pages that answer them, publishes them into your CMS and measures per engine whether you get mentioned. You approve, Traze does the rest.

What our AI SEO focuses on

Showing up in AI answers calls for different choices than a classic ranking. These are the six areas Traze works on.

  • 01

    Question-led content

AI assistants answer questions, not keywords. We map the questions your buyers literally type into ChatGPT and Perplexity and write pages that answer them directly in the first paragraph.

  • 02

    Citable structure

Models retrieve passages, not whole pages. Short answer blocks, clear headings, tables, definitions and FAQs make it easy to quote exactly your sentence. Every page gets a citability score before it is published.

  • 03

    Entities and brand consistency

An AI has to know who you are, what you make and which category you belong to. We describe your brand, products and expertise consistently across your site and in schema.org so the model files you under the right label.

  • 04

    Reachable for AI crawlers

GPTBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and ClaudeBot have to be able to read your pages. We check robots.txt, rendering without JavaScript, load time and canonicals, and fix whatever blocks AI access.

  • 05

    Proof beyond your own site

AI answers lean heavily on comparisons, reviews and trade media. We identify which sources feed your market's answers and which content you need to publish to be included in them.

  • 06

    Measurement per engine

You see per question and per engine whether your brand is mentioned, which page is cited and who sits next to you. Not a yearly sample, but a continuous measurement.

Approach

How Traze approaches AI SEO

We start with the questions, not with your website. Traze first learns your brand, products, audience and competitors and builds a list of questions an AI assistant already answers today, with or without you in it. That baseline shows where you are and are not mentioned and which competitor or comparison site holds the spot right now. See how Traze measures your AI visibility per engine.

Then comes the content strategy: which questions do we cluster, which pages already exist and need a rewrite, which are missing? Traze writes the pages from your brand profile, with a direct answer at the top, supporting detail below and sources that can be checked. You approve the calendar and the copy before anything goes live. Read how AI content creation works in your voice.

Publishing is not the end. Traze tracks per engine whether the page gets cited, which passages the model uses and where the answer diverges. Pages that are not picked up get restructured or expanded. Over a few months you build a position that does not depend on a single update from a single engine.

Deep dive

What AI visibility really comes down to

Six things that decide whether an AI assistant picks your page, and how Traze handles each of them.

How AI answers choose their sources

ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity do not invent answers from nothing. For questions with a current or commercial angle they search the web first, retrieve a set of pages and build an answer with citations from them. Google AI Overviews works similarly but draws on Google's own index. In every case, pages that rank well, load fast and give a clear answer stand the best chance of being used as a source.

The difference from classic SEO is in the selection. A model does not necessarily pick the number one result; it picks the page it can pull a reliable, on-topic passage from. That means a well-structured page in position six sometimes gets cited while a vague page in position one does not. Traze therefore optimises for both: the ranking that gets you on the candidate list and the structure that makes you the source. Explore the AI visibility (GEO) feature.

Writing for citability

A citable page answers the question in its first two or three sentences, in language you could read out loud. Then comes the nuance: when the answer does not apply, what the alternatives are, what it costs. Models favour definitions (‘X is …’), steps, comparison tables and concrete numbers with a source. They avoid marketing language, because it cannot be quoted without embarrassment.

Traze scores every draft on exactly those traits: is there a direct answer, are the entities named, can the structure be retrieved, are claims backed up? Pages below the threshold go back into the writing loop before you ever see them. Volume stays high without quality slipping. See how the citability score works in AI content creation.

Entities: let the model know who you are

AI models reason in entities: brands, products, places, people and the relationships between them. If one page on your site sells ‘sustainable office chairs’ and another ‘ergonomic seating solutions’, the model cannot be sure which category you belong to. Consistent naming, a clear about page, authors with demonstrable expertise and Organization and Product schema give the model something to hold on to.

That consistency has to hold outside your site too. Mentions in comparisons, industry directories and reviews confirm what you claim yourself. Traze maps which external sources feed the AI answers in your market and which content you need to be included in them, from a well-argued comparison page to a guide trade media want to cite. Read how content strategy works at Traze.

Technically reachable for AI crawlers

It sounds basic, but many sites block AI crawlers without knowing it: a blanket disallow in robots.txt, a bot firewall that treats GPTBot as spam, or content that only appears after JavaScript rendering. Perplexity and ChatGPT often do not render JavaScript; whatever is not in the HTML does not exist for them.

Traze checks access per crawler, verifies that your key answers are in the server-side HTML and that canonicals, hreflang and load time are not getting in the way of indexing. Findings show up in your dashboard and Traze applies fixes wherever your CMS allows it. Run the free AI Visibility Check.

Measuring what Search Console cannot show you

Search Console tells you nothing about ChatGPT. So Traze runs your question list against the major engines on a schedule and records whether your brand is mentioned, which URL is cited, in which position and which competitors appear alongside. That gives you a share of voice per engine to put next to your classic rankings.

That measurement drives optimisation. A question where you are mentioned in Perplexity but not in Gemini usually points to a structure or authority gap we can address specifically. Without measurement you are guessing; with it, AI SEO is simply a process. Read how we measure and report.

AI SEO and classic SEO are not a choice

Almost every source an AI answer cites also ranks high in ordinary search results. Treating GEO separately from SEO builds on sand: the ranking gets you on the candidate list, the structure makes you the source. That is why AI SEO at Traze is not a separate package but a layer across the whole programme, from research to optimisation.

For online stores that means buying guides and comparison pages next to the category pages, so organic traffic grows together with AI visibility. See our approach to e-commerce SEO.

For service businesses it means knowledge pages next to the service pages: the questions a customer asks before picking up the phone. If you want the whole process taken off your plate, that is exactly what Traze's automated loop is built for. Read how lead generation SEO puts those questions to work.

Why Traze

Why brands choose Traze for AI SEO

AI SEO is new enough that many agencies sell it as advice. Traze delivers it as a working process: research, content, publishing and measurement in one system, with people keeping watch.

  • Measurement per engine built in: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, continuously rather than once.
  • Every page gets a citability score before you approve it.
  • Publishing straight into your CMS, including schema, metadata and internal links.
  • Classic rankings and AI citations in one dashboard, with the revenue attached.
  • Human approval on strategy and copy; nothing goes live without your sign-off.

Who it is for

Who gets the most out of AI SEO

  • Brands in categories where buyers already compare through ChatGPT or Perplexity, such as software, e-commerce and B2B services.
  • Businesses watching organic traffic flatten while AI Overviews appear above their rankings.
  • Challengers that cannot outrank an established market leader on authority, but can on structure and answer quality.
  • Marketing teams that have to report on AI visibility and currently have no reliable measurement.
  • Organisations that already rank well and want to avoid dropping out of sight in AI answers.

Frequently asked questions about AI SEO

Direct answers, including what it costs.

AI SEO, also called generative engine optimisation (GEO), is optimising your content so that AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews use and name your pages as a source in their answers. It builds on classic SEO (you have to be findable and trustworthy) and adds structure, direct answers, entities and measurement per engine on top.
