What the calculator shows
The model has three steps. One: how many people search around your topic every month. Two: the slice of that you win with better rankings and mentions in AI answers. Three: what those extra visitors are worth at your conversion rate and order value. Every step is out in the open, and every number is yours to change.
01
Search demand around your topic
A cluster of 8 to 12 keywords around your topic — from 'best' and 'price' to 'how to choose' — with monthly search volume per country and the intent behind each one. Added up, that is the market you want a share of.
02
Extra visitors, customers and revenue
You enter your current organic traffic, the growth you expect, your conversion rate and your average order value. The calculator turns that into extra visitors, extra customers and extra revenue per month and per year.
03
Conservative and upside scenarios
Next to your own inputs you see a conservative scenario (half your growth) and an upside scenario (one and a half times), plus a realistic first year in which results only build over three to six months.
04
Starting points per business type
Webshop, lead generation or SaaS: each type starts with typical values for conversion and order value, so you never begin at zero. Then you replace them with your own figures from Analytics or your CRM.
05
The formula, filled in
No black box. Under the result sits the calculation with your numbers in it: visitors × growth × conversion × value. You can rebuild it, share it and argue with it.
Why it matters · the short version
Why you should model revenue, not rankings
A ranking is not a result. Revenue is.
Almost every SEO report ends in positions, traffic or a visibility score. Those are intermediate steps. The question that matters — to you, your board or your client — is what a more visible site brings in customers and revenue, and whether that is worth the investment. You only answer that by running the numbers, and running them should not be complicated.
That is why the calculator starts with demand in the market rather than a figure pulled from thin air. The search volume around a topic is a factual ceiling: that many people look for it every month. Your current traffic and a realistic growth rate decide what share of it you can win; your conversion rate and order value translate that into money. Every assumption stays on screen, so you see at once which dial moves the outcome most.
AI answers change the sum but do not make it redundant. An AI Overview or a ChatGPT answer reduces clicks on some informational questions and raises the value of being cited on buying questions. So the calculator looks at the intent inside the cluster and recommends a lower conversion rate for informational topics. It remains an estimate — an honest one, with its assumptions attached.
Methodology · what is what
What we decide, measure and estimate
Every number in the result belongs to one of these three. The report itself says which, per item, so you know what to lean on.
Assessed by our decision model
A judgement with a probability behind it: certain, likely or uncertain. Not a fact, but traceable — the same input gives the same judgement, and the certainty is always shown.
Nothing: you fill in the assumptions yourself.
Measured
What we literally fetched or counted: HTTP status, HTML, robots.txt, sitemaps, feeds and search results. If it is not there, we say so.
Nothing from your site: this tool only works with what you enter.
Estimated
Models and rules of thumb: search volumes, click rates, expected return. Good enough to prioritise with, not to budget on.
Everything: traffic, conversion, order value and return are calculated assumptions, not a forecast.
Simulated. When no decision model, provider or cluster is available — or the daily ceiling for the free tools is reached — the tool keeps running on deterministic example data. That is labelled on every item it touches.
